A ballsy extra from Warner’s upcoming Batman v Superman, risked a $5 million dollar fine, breaching a confidentiality contract to spill top-secret details to a local news station. Asking WILX News 10 Detroit to keep them anonymous, the extra revealed an action scene at an art museum where Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), aided by the military, was engaged in an epic battle with Batman (Ben Affleck). While Bat did not have the support of the military during this confrontation, he did have a plucky youth fighting by his side.
Yes, apparently Robin will be featured in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel/Batman reboot/Justice League prequel (…yeah, I know) but it won’t be Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake or Damien Wayne. This Robin will be portrayed by Jena Malone (Donnie Darko, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) making it the first female Robin to appear on the big screen. What’s interesting about Carrie Kelly is that she originates from Frank Miller’s 1986 graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, a non-canonical story taking place in a dystopian future.
…but if this is true, and the Carrie Kelly Robin is indeed appearing in BvS, it won’t be the first similarity between the two stories. Ben Affleck has also been described as sporting an “older, late 40’s/early 50’s” look (TDKR is about an older, retired Batman), the new Batsuit looks extremely similar to the one featured in TDKR and of course, Supe’s brawl with a kryptonite-costumed Batman is right out of the pages of the legendary graphic novel. Hell, I already pointed this out earlier in the summer when the first teaser leaked.
I guess Synder is a big fan huh?
I wonder if Zack Synder, Warner Bros or any of the cast members will deny the leak or not respond at all. Time will tell.
